Linda Mitchell loves to paint outdoors in Maui, California, and in Europe. Viewers of her paintings often say, “I know where that is” or “I want to go there”.
She is most interested in color and light, and enjoys working in oils or watercolor. She is also a photographer whose work is on calendars and on a line of cards. She is constantly looking for the next image, either to be captured in a photo or a painting.
Linda received her Bachelor of Arts Degree and a California Teacher’s Credential from San Jose State University. She has pursued her arttraining at Cabrillo College and with many workshops and private teachers. Her love of art and her teaching background have blended together in recent years as she teaches in Hakone Gardens in Saratoga and in Yosemite National Park. The class in Yosemite is sponsored by the National Parks and the Yosemite Association and involves people in painting on location. Her sense of humor and her knowledge make her a popular speaker and teacher at art clubs.
She is represented in California at York Gallery and the Country Court Tea Room. She has been represented in Maui by Coast Gallery, Pacific Coast Gallery, Sargents, and Maui Sculpture Gallery. Currently on Maui her work can be found at the Hui No’eau and Dick Blake’s Resort Art.
