Matt and Judy spend time in Wyoming and Montana as well as Maui. Their love for the outdoors translated into painting and sculpting since 2005 when Matt was able to pursue art full time.
In addition to learning, growing and being inspired by his Hawaii painting friends such as Jack Hamilton, Jan Bushart, Jan Shaner and others, he has studied with painters T. Allen Lawson, Skip Whitcomb, Kathy Wipfler, Jim WIlcox, Greg McHuron, Dave Wade, and sculptors Rib Caswell and Phillipe Feraut.
Matt grew up next door and near renown western painters Conrad Schweiring and Grant Hagen, where, as a young boy, he watched them paint the Teton Mountain Range, wildlife and ranch life in Wyoming.
Matt has painted while traveling not only in the US, but in Japan, Korea and several countries in Europe
In addition to his paintings, Matt has a number of sculptures underway and has been seen out “plein air sculpting.”
