As native Texan, I grew up in a family of artists and musicians. My father was a painter, author and illustrator of children’s books. It was his passion and my Mother’s appreciation that gave me an enthusiasm for art at a very young age. My artistic background includes studies in music and art in Austin at the University of Texas and Laguna Gloria Art Center. During my numerous years abroad, I worked in various types of media: clay and bronze sculpture at the Institudo de Allende in San Miguel, Mexico; painting in Paris at L’Alliance Francaise and drawing and painting in Florence at the
Scuola di Dante Alighieri. A twenty five-year resident of Maui, my import business, Odyssey House, allowed me to explore my creative expression and to sell my paintings to clients worldwide. I have participated in many group exhibits in Texas and have been included many times in member and juried shows at the Hui No’eau, Viewpoints Gallery and Art Maui. My husband, Mark, has a coffee plantation and is a well-known coffee
entrepreneur. We live with two Australian Shepherds and some great kitties in Kula. My most recent works include watercolor, oil with a strong emphasis on pastel. “I love the continual challenge and joy of capturing the essence of Maui through my art.
