Because last years Demo and Workshops were such a huge success, we are pleased to announce that Don Sahli has agreed to come out for another informative and educational workshop this May!
Update: We have just opened up these workshops to all artists. You no longer need to be a part of PAPOH to participate!
These workshops are fun and colorful. We will meet at various locations on the island. The landscape will be looked at in terms of seeing the scene as simple spots of related, harmonized color, pure landscape, (beach and upcountry), structures, street scenes, and still-life will be experienced. Don will demonstrate, lecture, and paint with you throughout the day.

A recent participant of one of Don Sahli’s workshop shared these words:
“Don makes plein air painting really fun! He gave me the confidence to be free and take risks in my paintings. He offers lots of individual attention in his workshops and has taught me to see the world completely differently and how to apply that to my painting. I will not miss any opportunity to study with him”.
Don’t miss out, sign up today!
Note from Jan Bushart:
“Don Sahli uses a variety of techniques that we have not seen taught in many workshops including a thicker application of paint, painting without turpentine, and a very direct approach. I have watched several artists who took his workshop really run with these techniques and they are anxious to have him come back to Maui. This is a very direct free, joyful approach to painting but with plenty of instruction and demonstrations that will get you going! This approach has really helped me with my large paintings especially!”
